Kristen Browning has had a passion for makeup/fashion for as long as she can remember. Growing up in the small town of Templeton, CA there was not much to offer in this field. She was constantly looking through fashion magazines, and practicing making over her friends. By 13 years old Kristen was begging her mother to let her apply to fashion school, with her very amateur portfolio ready to go. During high school her talent for athletics excelled and she quickly became noticed as the top runner in her county. Kristen’s hard work and dedication soon paid off when she received a scholarship to Cal Poly. A year passed and she quickly realized that she wasn’t truly happy with where her life was going and what she was doing. Kristen’s passion for makeup and fashion were not being fulfilled with traditional college art courses. In deciding to stay true to herself she decided to pursue her dream of working in the industry. During this very transitional period in her life she met a young and energetic makeup artist who’s own passion and drive inspired her to go after her own dreams. When she was told of Margaret Kimura and researched her and the school she ran, Kristen knew what her next step would be. Within one week of meeting with Margaret, Kristen enrolled in the MKC Beauty Academy of Hollywood to train under top hair/makeup artists, as well as Margaret Kimura herself. Kristen is an extremely dedicated, and passionate person, who never gives anything less than her best. Having experienced many things in her life already at such a young age. Kristen knows what hard work means, and is always pushing to better herself. Her life experiences have helped shape her into the person she is today, and more importantly who she becomes in the future.
